Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), commonly known as Middlemen, act as intermediaries between health insurance companies and pharmacies.Their increasing influence however, has contributed to rising costs for patients.
PhRMA is a trade group representing pharmaceutical companies that seeks to raise public awareness about PBMs and their practices, ultimately driving public pressure to push for change through Congress. We assisted with this effort by launching both Out-Of-Home and Display banners.
Several bills have since been introduced in the House to hold PBMs accountable for their unfair practices that drive up costs for consumers/patients and provide more transparency in their actions.
